There is nothing worse than thinking you made it through months of continuous snow storms and frigid temperatures without a problem, then looking up at your ceiling and noticing dripping water or water marks and bubbling paint. This could be a sure sign of an...

Ice Dams are caused by water that has pooled behind the snow and ice on your roof. The water will then seep under the shingles, drip through the roof into the soffits, walls and the ceiling leaving an ugly mess.

Many people are not aware of the damage ice dams can cause until it affects their home. Knowing and understanding the potential issues that can occur in and around your home during horrible winter weather can keep your home safe.

Keeping your attic cold by adding roof and soffit vents, properly insulating your home and attic to prevent heat from escaping and/or purchasing a roof rake to remove the snow while standing on the ground can possibly prevent ice dams. Please note CLIMBING ON YOUR ROOF CAN BE DANGEROUS so if you are unable to remove the snow safely please contact a professional.
